This project was unlike any other because I got to work with a mock client who also happened to be a fellow culinary student at Ai. It was a fascinating process to see two worlds collide where neither of us knew much about the other’s expertise, but we both shared such an excitement and passion for what we were studying. Having someone to consult with throughout the entire design process made this project feel much more representative of working as a designer in the professional world. It presented its challenges at times, but more importantly it was a good reminder that the client’s wants and needs come first. And here is the result of my collaboration with a chef that always has hosting and entertaining on the forefront of her mind, has an undeniable appreciation for pretty cocktails and brunching, and doesn’t shy away from femininity.
